here are 5 reasons to love breastfeeding
& 5 to dislike it a tiny bit ..just a tiny bit
5 lovely reasons to love it
..
1. Cost effective...yes folks it's FREE! I've spent about $50 or less feeding Lucas. The $50 have been spent on bag for storage & nursing bras. Not going to lie, the money being saved was a great incentive for me to try and breastfeed. Of course apart from all the good it provides it saves us a buck or two :D
2. Bonding.... Following birth which I got an Epi then failed, then spent 3 hours trying to push my posterior baby out I was exhausted and worried I didn't have energy to "bond" I was kinda obsessed with whether we would bond immediately or not. Placing him on my breast and seeing him suckling immediately was amazing. The bond we share is crazy!
3.Effortless..Meaning in the way that it's readily available. I can nurse him walking, sitting, talking basically doing any activity since it's hands free. Yea sure I still have to hold him but on a good day I can eat a burger and have him lay there with his sweet head on my lap nursing away.
4.No bottle cleaning... this one rules!! i hate cleaning these. I stayed at home w/L for 5 awesome months and avoided these for those 5 glorious months.
5.Breast is best..Knowing that you are giving your child the best food on the planet. Nothing can compare to mama's milk in my opinion.
now there are some pesky little thing about bf
1.Ouch.. yes it uncomfortable, at first I promise. I started dreading it because i knew my nipples were gonna take a beating. It does get better and then your never in pain again..that is until biting begins...ha
2.It's you 100% of the time.. my hubs slept, i didn't. Enough bonding time i need to take a walk.
3.Biting..L bit me more when he didn't have any teeth than now. I think he's getting the fact that teeth are for chewing and not for compromising our food source.
4.Engorgement..ahh it's very uncomfortable too, If your away from your babe too long you will have a let down. you will be begging your dh to suck all the milk out please..
5.public opinion..everyone knows the best time to stop.
